Open Discussion in cooperation with DGB Youth
Living and studying in a new country can be exciting — but also challenging, especially in times like these. Across Europe, many students are struggling with rising prices, fewer job opportunities, and growing uncertainty about the future. The effects of war, climate change, and the economic crisis make it harder to plan ahead or feel secure about what comes next.
This event invites international students in Tübingen to come together and talk about what studying in Europe feels like right now. How are students in your home country affected? What’s similar, and what’s different here in Germany? And how do we deal with these challenges — not alone, but together?
We’ll start with a short 20-minute input by the Youth Secretary of the German Trade Union Confederation, who will share insights on what collective action and solidarity among students could look like. After that, you’ll have the chance to share your experiences, compare perspectives, and discuss what solidarity among students across borders could look like.
Join us for an open, friendly space to reflect, connect, and exchange ideas with other international and local students in Tübingen. Grab some food & drinks and meet students from all over Europe!
