Application

Application Process

  • December 15th: Application deadline. Applications must be handed in through the online application system of the University of Tübingen
  • by January 12th: round of interviews in English
  • by January 30th: Successful applicants will be officially informed and provided letters of admission
  • April 1st or October 1st: Program participants arrive in Tübingen (start is possible in spring as well as in fall semester)

How to Apply

Please apply via the online portal (portal is open from June 1st till June 30th)
In order to apply you need to upload the following documents combined in 1 PDF (max. 4 MB)

  • Cover/Motivation letter with the description of academic characteristics that qualify you to complete the PhD project successfully
  • CV
  • Academic transcripts* (if you have not yet completed your Master's studies, please submit a confirmation of studies and an up-to-date transcript of records)
  • Proof of proficient English language skills - TOEFL iBT 95 or IELTS 6.5 or equivalent (English skills can also be confirmed through an interview after the application)

*List of required Academic transcripts (including official translation into German or English for documents issued in Korean)
