President expresses condolences to relatives of victim and the entire UNC-Chapel Hill community

Faculty member falls victim to campus shooting

Following the violent death of a faculty member of the University of North Carolina (UNC) - Chapel Hill, the President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Tübingen, Professor Karla Pollmann, has sent a message of condolence to her American colleague, Chancellor Kevin Guskiewicz. It states:

“I was appalled to hear that a faculty member was killed by gunfire in Caudill Laboratories on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus on Monday. We include in our thoughts and prayers the family and friends of the killed professor, as well as all members of the UNC-Chapel Hill community. In the wake of this shocking event, we wish you and the students and staff much strength in these difficult times. On behalf of the Rectorate of the University of Tübingen, I would like to express my condolences and sympathies.”
