Student assistant positions (m/f/d) in the field of Moodle course setup and gamified AI-literacy learning tasks

The Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology is seeking support for and AI Teaching project Operationalising Critical AI Literacy: A Gamified and “Student as Partners” Teaching Toolkit for Responsible Generative AI Use in Social Science. The work focuses on developing Moodle-based units introducing foundational knowledge of Generative AI and prompt engineering, helping students understand how AI outputs are generated, shaped, and evaluated. To support the technical development and setup of these learning units, the research institute is hiring

Two Student Assistants
in the scope of up to 38 hours/month each.
The positions are to be filled for the period from September 1st, 2026, to December 31st, 2026.

Typical activities:
•    Moodle Setup: Supporting the setup and configuration of Moodle course areas, learning units, quizzes, activities, and progress indicators.
•    Gamified Learning Tasks: Assisting with short explainers, gamified quizzes, prompt-building challenges, comparison tasks, and scenario-based decision activities
•    AI-Literacy Benchmarking: Supporting the benchmarking of AI-literacy criteria with emphasis on prompt-engineering competencies, to anchor learning objectives.
•    Testing & Documentation: Testing Moodle activities from a student perspective and documenting technical, usability, or content-related issues.  

Your profil: 
•    Enrolled Student: Currently enrolled at the University of Tübingen or another higher education institution
•    Required Fit: Candidates should meet at least two of the following criteria: computer-science back-ground; familiarity with Moodle; familiarity with gamification design 
•    Interest: An interest in Generative AI, prompt engineering, AI literacy, and technology-supported teaching. 
•    Technical and Design Skills: Initial experience with digital learning environments, learning activities, interactive tasks, or basic technical implementation is desirable.
•    Soft Skills: A structured, independent, and reliable approach to work, with attention to detail and an interest in collaborative work in an interdisciplinary environment. Proficiency in German and English.
