On July 20, the German Commission for UNESCO, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth (BMBFSFJ), honored the Competence Center for Sustainable Development for its outstanding commitment to Education for Sustainable Development (BNE).
About the Award
The “National Award for Education for Sustainable Development” honors organizations, networks, and municipalities that are committed to shaping our society in a way that is livable and sustainable as part of UNESCO’s ESD 2030 program. Sustainable development means ensuring human dignity and equal opportunities for all within an intact environment. Education plays a key role in this. It empowers people to make informed decisions and to better understand and assess the impact of their actions on future generations and other regions of the world.
