for exchange/Erasmus students/ English BA students

Advanced beginners: A1.2, A2.1, A2.2 classes for students with previous knowledge of German (at least 60h of German)

All German classes are fully booked.
We hope to welcome you to a German class next semester.

General information

The A1.2 - A2.2 classes are free of charge for exchange students.
One class lasts one semester.
winter term 2024/25: October 22, 2024 - February 7, 2025
summer term 2025 : April 22 - July 25, 2025
You can take one class per semester.
It is not possible to take two classes on different levels at the same time. (e.g. A1.2/A2.1)
You can get 6 credits for each class. (requirements: no more than 3 absences, 2 tests)

How to register

Option 1

Is this the first German class you are taking in our department?
You did not finish the course with us with credits last semester?
You would like to to skip a level?
You have a course certificate from another German institute?

You need to take a placement test.
Test dates for summer term 2025 available in Mid February 2025.

Option 2

You participated in a German class with us last semester & finished the class with credits.
You want to take the next level.

You do not need to take a placement test. We have uploaded your level to Alma.

Please go to Alma and register in our registration period in April 2025.

The test will be held online via zoom. It's easy: You don't have to register for the test. Just click on the red button "Placement test" 5 Minutes before the start.

The test will start punctually!

In the zoom meeting, we will also explain, how and when you can register for classes.
After you have finished your test, you can see your test results on this website at 4pm.
Please go then to Alma and register for your class. (list see below.
You will know by Friday, October 18, if you have a place in the class.
Your Alma status will then be on “admitted”.
If you have a place in the class, your teacher will contact you with further information on Monday, October 21.
Classes start on October, 22.
