Over 4000 international students and doctoral candidates are enrolled at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. They enrich the university community both culturally and academically. To honor this fact, the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) has provided the University of Tübingen with an award for a foreign student / doctoral candidate this year.
The DAAD award is intended to honor outstanding international students or doctoral candidates who have distinguished themselves both through special academic achievements and remarkable social or intercultural commitment.
The winner selected by the selection committee will be awarded a DAAD prize of 1,000 euros.
Nomination by a person from the university, an association or the environment of the activity, who can describe the social or intercultural volunteer work and justify the nomination in a comprehensible manner on 1-2 A4 pages.
Nominated students and doctoral candidates can then apply for the DAAD prize with complete documentation.
The application deadline is April 30, 2026.
The selection committee reviews the applications and invites the strongest applicants to personal selection interviews.
The selection committee's proposal will be submitted to the Rectorate of the University for approval.

If the degree or doctorate has already been completed at the time of application, it must not have been completed more than 3 months ago (young graduates).
