Hiking Tour Metzingen-Neuffen

Join us for a scenic and moderately challenging summer hike (approximately 15–16 km) through the beautiful Swabian countryside. The route features several climbs, stunning viewpoints, and open landscapes, offering plenty of opportunities to enjoy the region’s natural beauty.

Highlights of the hike include:

  • Hofbühl Vineyard – a short break with panoramic views over the surrounding area
  • Jusi Observation Deck – a longer lunch break at one of the region’s most scenic viewpoints
  • Neuffener Hörnle–Jusenberg Nature Reserve – a beautiful protected area known for its diverse landscapes and impressive vistas

We look forward to spending a wonderful day together exploring these characteristic Swabian landscapes and enjoying the summer outdoors.

Hike Details:

  • Distance: ~15-16 km
  • Hiking time: ~4,5-5 hours (excluding breaks)
  • Total duration: ~7-8 hours

We will start the hike from there and expect to return to Tübingen around 6.30 p.m.

IMPORTANT: 

  • Check the weather beforehand and be prepared for sun or rain. Trails can be exposed - sun protection needed!
  • Wear good hiking shoes with strong grip.
  • Bring at least 3 liters of water, lunch, and plenty of snacks for the whole day. Feel free to bring something to share.
  • Don't forget your Student ID and/or DeutschlandTicket/Jugendticket for bus travel.

This tour is organized and conducted by one of our volunteers (Armin Vahdat). Therefore, the registration process and handling differs slightly from the organization by the Welcome Center. Please read the information below regarding payment, organization etc. carefully.

Registration

To secure your spot, kindly follow these steps:

  • Send €5 to Armin’s PayPal account (nicerobservatoryspam prevention@gmail.com) to confirm your participation. Add only your WhatsApp-enabled number and full name in the PayPal payment description (e.g., +49 1761234567 John Smith).
  • You may invite up to three guests (friends or family). In that case, please pay for them and include +1 in the PayPal description (e.g., +49 1761234567 John Smith +1).
  • Please note: There is no waiting list and cancellations by the registered participants are non-refundable. Participation is limited to 25 people on a first-come, first-served basis. If you register after the limit is reached, you will be automatically refunded.
  • The payment deadline is 11:59 p.m. on July 9, 2026. However, registration will close promptly once the 25-person limit is reached, with a notification posted on our Welcome Center Stammtisch WhatsApp group. On July 10, registered participants will be added to the hiking WhatsApp group and will get additional journey details.
