Punt Boat Ride

Experience the city’s unique Stocherkahn tradition

A Stocherkahn (traditional punt boat) ride is one of Tübingen’s most beloved traditions and an experience not to be missed. Closely tied to the city’s identity, these flat-bottomed wooden boats have been gliding along the River Neckar for centuries.

Your punter will expertly propel the boat by pushing a long pole against the riverbed, while you simply lean back against the wooden seats, relax, and enjoy the scenery. Each boat accommodates around 14 passengers, who sit facing one another - creating the perfect setting for conversation, getting to know fellow participants, and enjoying the relaxed Swabian atmosphere.

As the boat drifts gently along the lush green riverbanks, you’ll take in the picturesque Neckar waterfront with its historic buildings, including the Hölderlin Tower, the Burse, and the Protestant Seminary (Stift).

Join us for this unique opportunity to experience the beauty and charm of Tübingen from the water!
