About us

The CRCS is a transfaculty platform at the University of Tübingen that connects scholars from different disciplines to explore religious, cultural, secular and societal interrelations, facilitating interdisciplinary exchange. 

With a multitude of religion-related disciplines, the University of Tübingen is an outstanding location for research worldwide: two Christian theological faculties (Protestant, Catholic), a center for Islamic theology, a Jewish Studies department steeped in tradition, a non-theological Religious Studies department, as well as Oriental and Islamic Studies, in addition to numerous representatives from literature, cultural studies, as well as history and social sciences, deal with questions in which religious identities and institutions play a major role.  

Guest lectures and monthly colloquia are held at the CRCS. An international network with cooperation partners is in the making.
