Requirements for final enrolment

Enroling as a student in Tübingen:

Before enrollment:

We recommend that you obtain German statutory health insurance. Should you purchase private health insurance or already have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), you must also register with one of the German statutory health insurance companies in order to obtain an exemption from statutory health insurance. The insurance company will send us your insurance status for your enrollment electronically. You can find more information here:

Enrollment: To enroll, please access your account at the ALMA portal (using your log-in and password). https://alma.uni-tuebingen.de/alma/pages

Please note that you are not fully registered until you have paid all fees.

For your enrollment, please click on "Not Student at Uni Tübingen? Start request for enrolment here!", which will give you access to the online enrollment form. After completing online enrollment please print the PDF document, sign it, and hand it in–with all other documents required, as listed below–via e-mail (as pdf documents) to study.master@uni-tuebingen.de:

  • your signed enrollment form (1st page, saved from online registration, see above)
  • the letter of admission (only German version)
  • a copy of the data page of your passport
  • a passport-format photo

After your arrival in Tübingen, please make an appointment with a team member responsible for international admissions in graduate programs during your first semester and present the following documents:

  1. your university degree certificate, (certified copy; alternatively original plus an ordinary copy)
  2. your offficial transcript (certified copy; alternatively original plus an ordinary copy)
  3. your language certificate (certified copy; alternatively original plus an ordinary copy)
  4. China/Vietnam/India: Certification of the academic testing center (APS-Certificate)

Attention: If these documents are not issued in German or English, 1.–3.- have to be in a certified and legitimized form of translation in German or English.

You can only re-enroll for a second semester after you have submitted these documents, thus the submission deadline for these documents is the end of the first semester.
