Erasmus trainees or persons completing an Erasmus traineeship/internship are not Erasmus exchange students, but interns/trainees financed by the Erasmus program (https://erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu/opportunities/opportunities-for-individuals/students/traineeships-abroad-for-students). The internship can be completed in the private sector, public authorities, NGOs, research institutions (e.g. universities) etc.
There is no central contact point for Erasmus trainees or other international interns/trainees at the University of Tübingen that arranges internships. This means that interested parties must organize the traineeship place themselves.
If you have found an Erasmus traineeship place and have been accepted by a department, please note the following:
- as with other interns/trainees, the host department is generally responsible for supervision
- Learning Agreements for Traineeships must be signed by your internship supervisor; the International Office or other members of the Central Administration are not responsible.
- Erasmus trainees can be enrolled (Alma, Abschluss/degree no. 97, “kein Abschluss”): Please contact the colleagues in Department IV who are responsible for temporary students who are not exchange students: study.undergraduate@uni-tuebingen.de (also for Erasmus trainees at graduate level)
- Please make sure that your application documents are complete: Erasmus trainee confirmation, certificate of enrollment at your home university, confirmation from the dean's office that you are not taking ECTS credits, cf. research stay.
- Erasmus trainees and other interns do not receive a room in a hall of residence from the room contingent reserved for (Erasmus) exchange students. The Housing Team of Department IV may be able to help you find a room: housing[a]zv.uni-tuebingen.de
- After your application, you will receive a form in which you confirm that you will not acquire any ECTS credits at the University of Tübingen.
Please always indicate that you are an Erasmus trainee: The general indication of an Erasmus student causes the wrong allocation and a delay in processing your requests.
Learning Agreement
- The Learning Agreement for Traineeship must be signed by your traineeship supervisor. The International Office (Division V) or the colleagues of Division IV are not responsible.
- The Learning Agreement sometimes requires information on insurances provided by the host institution: if the trainee is enrolled as a research student, the university will provide an accident insurance, however no liability insurance.
Accommodation
Erasmus trainees and other interns do not receive a room from the dormitory quotas reserved for (Erasmus) exchange students or other international (degree seeking) students. Please be prepared to look on your own for accomodation on the private housing market. The Housing Team of Division IV might be able to support your search: housing@zv.uni-tuebingen.de.
Please always state in your correspondence that you are an Erasmus trainee so that your request is processed correctly. You are not an Erasmus exchange student.
