Beware: Fraudsters are currently trying to recruit foreign English teachers for the University of Tübingen by writing specifically to people abroad. They promise a one-year employment contract, offer accommodation and demand an immediate advance payment for rent and a deposit for the apartment, giving the IBAN and BIC/Swift code. They use the logo of the University of Tübingen to give the impression that they are officially working for the University of Tübingen. As a rule, the e-mail address “jobs[at]universitat-tuebingen.de” is given. This is not a University of Tübingen e-mail address! University of Tübingen accounts always end with “...[at]uni-tuebingen.de”. Please do not respond to these offers and do not transfer any money to the bank accounts nominated. This is a fraudulent scheme by people who have nothing to do with the University of Tübingen. Under no circumstances does the University of Tübingen demand money for the placement of an employment contract, an apartment, or a deposit. The University of Tübingen has now reported these activities to the police so that they may be prosecuted.
