Ad: 2 PhD positions in Evolutionary Science (m/f/d)

The Humanities Center for Advanced Studies “Words, Bones, Genes, Tools: Tracking Linguistic, Cultural and Biological Trajectories of the Human Past” of the University of Tübingen (http://www.wordsandbones.uni-tuebingen.de) directed by Prof. Dr. Katerina Harvati and Prof. Dr. Gerhard Jäger seeks to fill 2 positions of  

Ph.D. student position in Evolutionary Sciences in the Junior Research Group on the “Co-evolution of Tool-use and Language” (m/f/d)

Each student position will start as soon as possible and run for 3 years, with a possible extension for a fourth year. Salary will be according to the German public service scale TV-L E13, 65%.

Applicants for this position must hold a Master’s or equivalent degree in prehistoric archaeology, biomechanics, neurology, applied linguistics or a related field.

The successful applicant will work in an interdisciplinary project focusing on human brain-hand movement coordination during prehistoric stone-tool use, and its potential association with verbal/non-verbal communication.
