Summary

The relationship between the metabolism of polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) and polyphosphate (polyP) and the importance of both biopolymers for the survival under stress conditions is investigated at the example of the β-proteobacterium Ralstonia eutropha. In particular, the importance of two newly identified polyP granule-associated proteins for the the balance between the formation of both biopolymers will be determined.
