An intensive preparatory course for new exchange and Erasmus students
On the START course, you can refresh and improve your German language skills before the start of the semester. Our language course comprises four hours of German lessons every day, in the morning and in the afternoon, as well as tutorials to help you find your way around the university and the city.
Accommodation is not included in the course fee! If you are studying in Tübingen during the 2026/2027 winter semester or the 2027 summer semester, you can rent a room in a student hall of residence from as early as March or September. You will receive a form from the ‘Studierendenwerk Tübingen’ with your application documents or from your Erasmus or study abroad coordinator. You can use this to apply for a room in a hall of residence. The housing situation in Tübingen is challenging. Please make sure you sort out your accommodation well in advance!
Please ensure that you have insurance cover in your home country for the duration of your stay in Tübingen. The course fee does not include insurance cover.
