As a computational linguist who has experience with language teaching, I am particularly interested in how language technologies can be utilized to enhance the language learner’s learning experience. My Ph.D. project is concerned with the development of an intelligent tool that fosters the language acquisition of Portuguese heritage language learners. As this is a multidisciplinary project, being a member of LEAD allows my work to be scrutinized by researchers who have different areas of expertise, which can give me insights I otherwise would not have been able to gain.
