Topics addressed during the summer school will include:

• Key Concepts in Humanitarianism
• Key Concepts in Diversity Studies
• Humanitarian Standards
• Refugee Law
• Ethics
• Psychosocial & Mental Health
• Needs Assessment in Emergencies

In the first part of the summer school, these and further topics will be introduced and discussed (seminar part).

The second part will focus on workshops and a dialogue with practitioners and groups of refugees.

We will invite different groups of agents in the field, who will present their activities and engagement. Afterwards, participants will explore four clusters of interaction in view of their relevance for research and practical challenges:

• I. refugees > practitioners
• II. refugees > social context
• III. refugees > refugees
• IV. social context > refugees

Apart from a presentation and discussion with all involved, we are planning to publish the results.
