Application for an exemption from the tuition fee because of a leave of absence (Attention: A tuition fee exemption because of a leave of absence is only possible, if there's a reason for a leave of absence, your application for a leave of absence is approved and was received by Student Administration before the beginning of the lecture period.)
According to Landeshochschulgebührengesetz applications for an exemption from the tuition fee must be submitted before the beginning of the lecture period, i.e. for winter semester 2025/2026until 13 October 2025.
An application for an exemption does not release you from your payment obligations.
Please submit your application for an exemption as early as possible, so that a decision on the exemption can be made by the start of winter semester 2025/2026 (up to six weeks processing time). Otherwise you will have to pay the tuition fee in order to be enrolled in time for winter semester 2025/2026 (1 October 2025 to 31 March 2026). In the case of the exemption, the tuition fee will be refunded.
Tuition fee waiver: Please note that all semester fees and tuition fees must be paid in order to enroll or re-enroll. Tuition fee waivers are only possible in a few legally regulated cases.
