Lunch-Academy

The Lunch-Academy offers a range of short formats and interactive workshops designed specifically for early- and mid-career researchers, which complement our regular workshop program. The short formats, most of which take place at lunchtime, offer the opportunity to explore and take advantage of targeted training and advisory programmes that fit perfectly into your schedule.

Lunch & Learn

In compact short workshops during lunchtime, we offer popular workshop topics for all those who do not want to commit to a whole day. We also use this format to try out new topics or to provide important impulses that do not require a full-day workshop. So you can use your lunch break effectively for further training and inspiration!

Upcoming Events:

European Doctoral Day: “And what are you going to do with it?” – The European Competence Framework for Researchers and the value of doctoral training with Dr. Martina Bross (13.05.2026, 10:00 - 12:00 CET), online, in English

„And what are you going to do with it, once you are finished?” – this question is familiar to many doctoral researchers. It often comes with the implication that a doctoral degree and hence doctoral training have no “value” beyond the academic sphere. Likewise, doctoral researchers often struggle with translating the concrete and valuable experience they have gained during their training into skills sought after by prospective employers. In this session, we will use the European Competence Framework for Researchers to explore the transversal skills developed by doctoral researchers during their training and how the “value” of doctoral training can be made visible for future employers and the doctoral researchers themselves. The online session will contain a presentation and time for participants to exchange ideas.

Feel your work!

Erste Übungen dazu machen wir beim “Lunch and Learn”: Feel your work!

Good Science Sessions

The online format Good Science Sessions invites researchers of all career stages as well as students to reflect on standards for good research. This format is open to all members of the University and aims to include all disciplines. The DFG’s “Code of Conduct for Safeguarding Good Research Practice” and the University of Tübingen’s revised “Guidelines for Ensuring Good Scientific Practice” serve as starting points to explore different aspects of good science. The sessions will be held in English, but participants are welcome to submit questions in German as well.

Let’s Talk About Careers

In the online event series "Let's Talk About Careers", the Graduate Academy, in cooperation with the Alumni Office of the University of Tübingen, invites alumni who no longer work in academia to talk about their personal career paths. With this format we want to support doctoral researchers and postdocs in their individual career planning. Participants can learn about possible career paths outside of academia and meet scientists who have taken this step and would like to talk about their experiences and decisions. The indiviudal talks are held in English or German.

Round Tables Science Management

As part of the Certificate Program Science Management, Round Tables are held regularly by experts from the various different fields of science management at the University of Tübingen and in the science system in general. The Round Tables can be attended independently of the certificate program. They will give you first impressions of the broad field of science management in a practical context and enable you to ask questions and get to know the professional field in its diverse facets. All Round Tables take place online via Zoom and are held in German.
