Uni-Tübingen

The following registration and participation rules apply to the Graduate Academy's qualification program.

By signing up for an event, you agree to these terms.

  1. Doctoral candidates who are accepted at the University of Tübingen are eligible to participate. Doctoral candidates who are guests at the University of Tübingen are also allowed to participate. Doctoral candidates who are not accepted at the University of Tübingen but are doing their doctorate as part of a project involving the University of Tübingen (e.g., clusters, SFBs, graduate programs, etc.) may also be eligible to participate in certain cases. In such cases, we ask that you get in touch before registering.

Graduates of the University whose doctoral degree was completed within the last 6 months can also attend the events. Exceptions to this are possible.

Researchers in the qualification phase after the doctoral phase (postdocs, assistant professors and junior research group leaders) are eligible to participate if they are members or guests of the University of Tübingen. Researchers employed at UKT and at a Tübingen Research Campus facility are also eligible. Exceptions to this are possible.

  2.  Your registration is binding. You can only officially cancel until the registration deadline of the event by emailing infospam prevention@graduiertenakademie.uni-tuebingen.de. In the DRDP, you can also de-register yourself via ILIAS until the registration deadline. In the DRDP, the registration deadline is 10 days before the event starts, and in the RDP, 8 days before.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you cannot attend an event as planned, for example due to illness, by sending us an email: infospam prevention@graduiertenakademie.uni-tuebingen.de. Ensuring maximum fairness for all participants is very important to us. Therefore, we review last-minute cancellations (illness, emergencies) and decide on temporary suspensions based on uniform criteria. Cancellations due to illness are generally accepted with proof. We generally do not accept cancellations directly with course instructors/trainers. Your cancellation is only successful once it has been confirmed by email within the deadline.

  3. Your registration is always valid for the entire duration of the event. Partial absences are only possible in justified exceptional cases and after consultation. We reserve the right not to certify participation in case of absences.

  4. If you miss a workshop without a valid excuse and there was no illness or emergency (which we could accept after review), your access to the course program will be blocked for six months, and you won’t be able to attend any other courses during that time. This also applies to courses you’ve already registered for. For repeated offenses, we reserve the right to extend the suspension period.

FAQ

How can I register and log in?

How many courses am I allowed to take?

  • You can attend as many courses as you like.
Please only book courses that you will definitely attend. Many courses have long waiting lists, and often no one can move up at short notice. So please check beforehand whether you can actually attend the event. Most topics are offered every year or even every semester, so you don’t have to take all courses at once.

  • Please only register if you can participate in the entire event.

  • Please be aware of the rules regarding unexcused absences (see above)

Does it cost anything to participate?

The courses are funded by the Central Graduate Academy of the University of Tübingen or are partly organized together with partners at the University of Tübingen.

In general, participation is free for those who are eligible to attend.

If there happens to be an exception, for example for individual coaching sessions, you will be informed about all the details in advance.

Why am I temporarily excluded from the qualification program if I miss a session without excuse?

If you sign up for an event and don't show up, it means:

  • For the trainers that they suddenly have to work with fewer participants – on the one hand, this can mess up the planning of an event, and on the other hand, some exercises or setups only work with a certain number of participants.

  • For other people who would have liked to attend the event, that they won't get this opportunity.

  • For us as organizers at the Graduate Academy and the university, that an event becomes significantly more expensive per participant than with fully booked spots

How is course participation confirmed?

Certificates of Attendence can be issued for individual events. We usually do not issue certificates for information events and short events (less than 3 hours). Certificates of Attendance will be available on Ilias approx. 2 weeks after the event.
