Research data management (RDM) is an essential part in scientific work and one prerequisite for the successful application of third-party funding.
Therefore, Tübingen University is offering a modular course on RDM for all postdocs and professors of the university, which takes place once a year since January 2024:

free of charge

8 h in total (1.5 - 2 h per module; when attending only one extension module)

four Core Modules:
1. RDM Overview & Support Structures
2. Data Management Basics
3. Data Storage & Publishing
4. Legal Compliance in RDM

three discipline-specific Extension Modules:
2.1 Humanities & Social Sciences
2.2 Natural Sciences
2.3 Life Sciences

Certificate of Attendance (when attending all Core Modules plus one Extension Module)

Basic RDM knowledge explained along the Research Data Lifecycle

The module deepens the initial knowledge and expands the basic skills on RDM. Important concepts will be explained along the Research Data Lifecycle.

This module provides an overview of the various storage and archiving options within the different phases of research data management and presents options as well as services for publishing research data.

Copyright, licensing, patent law

The publication of research data is linked to different legal aspects. This module provides insights into the fields of copyright, licensing and patent law, thereby showcasing different options, which measures are required and for what data types these are suitable.
