Guidelines for Good Teamwork

Excellent results are also the outcome of good leadership and cooperation. With the Guidelines for Good Teamwork, which were developed in an extensive participatory process, the University of Tübingen is continuing on its path toward intensifying a culture of cooperation and commitment. The University of Tübingen wants to consolidate and expand its self-image as a modern research university and attractive employer in the region and worldwide. To this end, it places great emphasis on supporting and shaping good cooperation and working relationships. This is reflected in clear leadership and a highly communicative community of scientists, technicians, administrative staff, and students.

Four goals of the Guidelines for Good Teamwork

1. A common basic understanding of leadership and collaboration

Through conversations and discussions, we work out what good cooperation means for us as managers and employees in our everyday working lives. This includes both overarching management issues and specific questions relating to everyday work.

2. Orientation and clarity of expectations

The Guidelines of Good Teamwork set out clearly the criteria on which leadership and cooperation are based. They support managers and employees in reflecting on and shaping their collaboration.

 

3. Taking responsibility, living appreciation

Guidelines for Good Teamwork emphasize that the performance of all employees makes an important contribution to the overall success of the university. We call on each individual to take responsibility for themselves, their own team and their respective area of work.

 

4. Creating a framework for continuous development

Guidelines for Good Teamwork are not an end point; they are a starting point that creates clarity and perspective. With the adoption of the guidelines, measures are now being promoted to continuously develop the quality of collaboration at the University of Tübingen on these foundations.
