Department III.1 Program Planning and Development has extensive expertise in developing degree programs and aligning the program portfolio of the university and its faculties. The team in Department III.1 Planning and Development of Degree Programmes supports and advises the faculties on all strategically issues relating to the design and conception of the degree programs - including modularization, skills orientation, the design of examination regulations, cooperation and appeals procedures. The department communicates with all those involved in the faculties, the administration and the Rectorate. Furthermore, the department leads various committees related to the development of degree programs and internal accreditation procedures. The department is responsible for the quality assurance development within the degree programs as well as for designing the relevant processes and procedural steps. It also supports the faculties in developing applications for the teaching awards and special prizes as well as other external calls for funding. In the pilot phase (2023/24), funding will also be offered for innovative teaching projects.
The department offers academic staff a wide range of opportunities to share ideas and network on curriculum development topics: whether it is the design of degree programs, the design of profile lines, the teachability and studyability of teaching and learning modules or legal questions - the department develops demand-oriented solutions. The "Curriculum Designer" series of events was added to the advisory portfolio in 2023 and addresses program directors and coordinators, those responsible for studies and teaching and all those who develop degree programs.
