Service-Learning on an international level: workshop for lecturers within the program of the Baden-Württemberg Centre for Teaching and Learning (HDZ) with an asynchronous phase for the first time

This year's workshop for lecturers on the implementation of Service-Learning projects was special in several respects - the most important key points were an asynchronous phase, interdisciplinarity and internationality.

For the first time, an asynchronous phase on civic engagement and Service-Learning was offered on the e-learning platform Ilias, which was well received by the participants. On the one hand, the eight lecturers were able to prepare for the workshop individually and at their own pace. On the other hand, the synchronous part, which took place on 15.11.2024, served to clarify questions, discuss examples and offered the participants space to develop their own interdisciplinary Service-Learning teaching concepts in teams of two and discuss the challenges of implementation. At the end of the workshop, there was constructive feedback from the participants on the further development of the blended learning concept, which we intend to implement for the next workshop.
