Accommodation

If you want to stay at a University-owned dormitory you must enroll.

You cannot live in a University-owned student dorm.

Enrollment period

You can only enroll for a whole semester
(October 1 - March 31 / April 1 - September 30).

ID card and
email account

You will receive a student ID card and email account.

If you have a work contract, you will receive an ID card and email account via your institute. Otherwise, we can organize them for you: please send us a personal picture (jpg) for the card. You can use the University ID card for the libraries and cafeterias (the latter without a student discount).

University cafeterias

With a student ID card, you can eat at the student discount price.

If you still have your home university's student ID card, you can buy a “Mensakarte” at one of the University cafeterias and eat there at the student discount price.

Our University ID card does not provide any discount.

Other discounts

You will also be eligible for student discounts at several places (e.g. museums, certain companies and banks etc.). 

Accident insurance

You are automatically insured against accidents happening at the University / on the way between your home and the University.

Unless you have a work contract, you are not automatically insured against such accidents.
