Tübingen, Germany — December 4, 2024
Alte Aula in Tübingen served as the backdrop for Digital Education Day 2024, which was held under the motto 'Innovation Meets Education'. The event was aimed at educators, researchers and innovators committed to shaping the future of learning.
Wieland Brendel, Research Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, and Andreas Lachner, Co-Director of the Tübingen Center for Digital Education, presented a project in planning, the “Hector AI+ Education Future Funds”, which aims to support projects using AI for teaching and learning.
Furthermore, they shared their vision of a platform designed to integrate AI into education. “AI is not the solution to all problems in education, but a great tool we should use for specific cases,” said Brendel. “We want to create a platform that adapts and empowers educators to deliver personalized learning experiences.” The platform thus offers an AI-supported answer to urgent challenges in education, such as the heterogeneity of learning speed and learning levels within a class.
The Digital Education Day 2024 featured a variety of sessions like pitches, where innovators in education shared AI-driven tools, gamified learning solutions, and adaptive platforms that are already transforming classrooms.
The success of the event was made possible through the collaboration of some of Germany’s leading education science institutions:
