Mentorship Programs

Target audience: Scientists in the late PhD phase and early postdoc phase.

The international mentoring program, which is carried out within the framework of RIS4CIVIS, links researchers at the late PhD and early postdoc career stages with international mentors from academia, industry and the public sector. The program will take place from October 2022 to June 2023.

Target audience: Women in their graduate studies, doctoral studies, post-doctoral studies, or female professors.

The Athene Mentoring Program addresses women who pursue a career in or outside academia and supports them to further qualify themselves. The goal is to specifically focus on women in science and to give them an access to sicentific networking through cascade mentoring in order to counteract structural discrimination against women.

Target audience: Postdoctoral researchers who are conducting their research at the Hector Institute for Empirical Educational Research or are associated with the LEAD Graduate School & Research Network and have completed their doctorate within the last 24 months.

The Tübingen Postdoctoral Academy for Research on Education (PACE) offers a structured training program to postdoctoral researchers in the early phase after their doctorate. The focus is on preparing and supporting them for independent research projects in the field of empirical educational research and a possible position as a professor. In addition to the training program and career development measures, the Academy Program includes structured mentoring with regular feedback sessions, clear objectives, and support measures.

Target audience: doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers

LEAD Graduate School & Research Network (Learning, Educational Achievement, and Life Course Development) is an international research network with an integrated doctoral program in the field of empirical educational research. LEAD offers a structured training program in which doctoral students and postdocs are advised and supervised by LEAD members, but also by international guests and external coaches. With this program, which includes seminars, workshops and coaching, LEAD aims to train highly qualified experts for research and practice.

Target audience: People interestet in pursuing a doctoral degree, doctoral candidates and and first-genereation academics in particular

MAP supports first-generation academics in their academic careers, provides information about doctoral opportunities, funding  and connects doctoral candidates and students. The core of MAP is Mentoring, interested students find suitable and experienced mentors who support them on their way to a doctorate degree.
