You must enroll to take part in regular studies and assessment at the University of Tübingen. Enrollment makes you a student member of the University.
Enrollment at the University of Tübingen is done via the ALMA online portal. If you are already enrolled at the University of Tübingen and want to change or expand your study program, you need to apply for a Change of Program.
If applying for a restricted-admission subject, you must submit an application prior to enrollment. Details here Information for applicants. You can see which subject have restrictions on admission under Courses Available.
If you apply for a restricted-admission subject before the closing date, you usually receive notice of acceptance or rejection 2 - 4 weeks after the closing date. If you are allocated a place in your chosen study programs via an award procedure, the status of your online application will be change accordingly. Please log into the ALMA portal regularly to check your status. As soon as your status changes to “zugelassen/admitted”, you can accept the place in the program. Then your access to enroll online will be granted.
Your admission notice includes a deadline for enrollment which you must meet. In the case of an admission notice from “hochschulstart.de”, the Erklärungsfrist (deadline for acceptance) is also the closing date for you to complete your enrollment in writing and in its entirety. If you do not enroll by the date stipulated in the admission notice your admission lapses and the place will be given to the next applicant.

Basic requirement for enrollment in a master degree program is a completed bachelor degree (or any equivalent basic university degree). In case you cannot submit your diploma/certificate due to correction period you can apply for conditional temporary enrollment. Therefore please fill in the following form and submit it to our office; in addition to the regular application form for enrollment and the other documents.

What do I have to do to enroll?

To enroll, log in to your account in the ALMA portal (https://alma.uni-tuebingen.de).). There you will find a button marked “Accept offer”; click on it to register. Click on the "Apply for enrollment" button to start your online enrollment. When you have finished the online procedure, print out the enrollment application form (PDF-Dokument).

Under a special rule for doctoral/Ph.D. candidates, they may enroll at any time during the semester. Enrollment as a doctoral candidate presupposes that you have already been accepted as a doctoral candidate by the faculty at which you plan to do your doctorate - and can present a valid statement to that effect when you enroll.
