In some religious communities, homosexuality is regarded as a sickness that requires curing. 'Conversion therapy', which was declared illegal in Germany in 2019, is still performed in many parts of the world. Pray Away is a 2021 American documentary film, where ex-leaders and survivors speak out about its harm to the LGBTQ+ community. Host of this event is the Institute for the Study of Religions. Researching religions from a neutral perspective, we talk about relations between society, culture and faith.
