Support Programmes for Equal Opportunities

The University of Tübingen has a range of funding programs and support services with which it addresses the dimensions of diversity, gender and care in a target group-specific manner.

Individual Programs

These measures are university programs for the advancement of women; individual applications are possible for members of the university. The Athene-Program of the University of Tübingen aims to support women on their career path in science - from studying to professorship. In the various program lines Athene Mentoring, Athene Grant and Athene Advanced, offers are made for different target groups. The Athene Grant is aimed at female scientists in the postdoc phase. Athene Mentoring is open to all female students and scientists, from BA students to professors. Athene Advanced supports female junior professors with tailored coaching support.

Furthermore, the university arranges support via programs of the state of Baden-Württemberg and the federal government. The Margarethe von Wrangell Program is aimed at newly appointed female junior professors; the MuT - Mentoring and Training - program supports female academics below professorship level from the doctoral phase onwards:

Family Service: Care and Financial Aid

Members of the University with children can apply for financial support for childcare costs under the KiBeKo program. They can also apply for one of the childcare places offered by the university or the Studierendenwerk.

Funding Programs for and by the Faculties

TEAching Equality and Diversity

In this group of measures, applications can be submitted by university institutions / subjects:

The TEAching Equality and TEachingDiversity programs (in preparation) provide funding for faculties to carry out teaching assignments and and practical presentations with women who are successful in their careers or people with a diversity background.

Interested faculties and subjects can submit applications to their faculties' gender equality committees. The target group of these two programs are students.

The Equal Opportunities Officers of the faculties have set up support programs for gender equality, family or diversity based on specific needs in their faculties and manage these themselves.
