Our workshops as part of the Transdisciplinary Course Program offer you the ideal platform for exploring potential career paths while uncovering your talents and interests. They also offer valuable guidance on optimizing your application documents and enhancing your self-presentation skills.

Under the guidance of experienced external lecturers, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow in small groups of around 10 students from different disciplines. The interactive workshops take place online or in person and allow you to exchange ideas with your peers.

In an increasingly digitalized world, artificial intelligence (AI) is playing an increasingly important role, especially in the application process. In this workshop, we will shed light on the basics of AI in recruitment and show how AI tools can be used effectively to optimize the application process.
The course contents are primarily designed for international degree-seeking students (Bachelor or Master).

This 2-hour workshop will focus on
•    Introduction to AI tools and discussion about their benefits and challenges
•    Screening bots for CVs (CV Parser)
•    Optimizing your own profile for AI systems
•    Tips for designing your CV, cover letter and online presence (especially LinkedIn) with the help of AI tools
•    Presentation of some tools for AI-supported interview simulation
•    Tips for the application process in the new AI world

This hands-on and discussion-based workshop is designed to support you in developing self-care practices essential for a smooth and sustainable transi-tion from university to your professional journey.

Together, we will:
•    Begin each session with mindful meditation to ground ourselves.
•    Learn step-by-step self-care techniques.
•    Participate in interactive discussions and reflective exercises.
•    Develop a personalized self-care plan for student and professional life.

Self-Care Pedagogy: The idea that caring for oneself and wellbeing are at the heart of my pedagogy approach. Dr. Courtney Kealy is an Associate Profes-sor of Religion at Wofford College, South Carolina, United States and a pas-sionate advocate for self-care as a tool for leadership and growth. She brings years of experience in creating inclusive and sustainable learning environ-ments.

In this online workshop, students will learn how to build self-esteem and pro-ject it outward. A key aspect of projecting confidence is body language, which — when used correctly — can increase one’s chances of success in conversa-tions, such as job interviews or salary negotiations.

This 4-hour workshop will focus on
•    The connection between body language and emotions
•    How to interpret facial expressions, gestures, posture, tone of voice
•    Limitations to body language interpretation
•    Cultural differences in body language
•    How to know if a conversation goes well

How to write CVs and cover letters

In this workshop, participants will learn to write resumes / CVs and cover letters in English for applying to international companies. In our first meeting, we will discuss key issues concerning style and goal-oriented writing. Against this background, in our second meeting students will evaluate each other’s resumes/ CVs and cover letters and benefit from mutual feedback. In the third meeting, students will receive individual feedback from the instructor on the final version of their resumes/ CVs and cover letters.

Participants should be willing to prepare their own documents between meetings. By the end of this workshop, participants will have developed practical skills for writing and evaluating resumes/ CVs and cover letters in English. Moreover, their own writing will be corrected and commented on by a native speaker of American English.

Given the rapid globalization and the international flow of human resources that accompany it, the number of students seeking jobs in foreign countries is growing rapidly. Addressing this development, the workshop is specifically designed for international students interested in job seeking in Germany with a focus on job seeking, application and networking. Its content ranges from the preparation of documents to job interviews and responds to the needs of the attendees in a catchy, yet informative way.

This workshop offers an overview on everything that is needed to apply for a job in Germany. Theoretical inputs as well as practical exercises will introduce the preparation of relevant documents and job interviews, inform about job seeking like career events or internet platforms.

The workshop targets international students with all kinds of backgrounds, interested in learning more about job seeking in Germany.

Joos van den Dool (Dipl. Arch) is a consultant, host, and coach for professional and leadership development with extensive experience in project management and communication. Joos focuses on co-creative processes, potential development, and sustainable growth. The Dutch native has lived in Germany since 2010, is married, and has three children. His passion lies in combining mindfulness, creative and social processes, and sustainable approaches.
