This year, the Dr K. H. Eberle Foundation's research prize has been awarded to an interdisciplinary team from the University of Tübingen. Our TRACS colleague Dr Solmaz Mohadjer, Professor Dr Peter Dietrich and Michael Pelzer received the award for their project on the visualisation and communication of uncertainties in scientific findings - an important step towards strengthening trust between science and society.

The Dr K. H. Eberle Foundation has awarded this year's research prize to Dr Solmaz Mohadjer, Professor Dr Peter Dietrich and Michael Pelzer. The interdisciplinary team is working on the visualisation and communication of uncertainties in scientific findings. With a grant of 100,000 euros, the foundation supports innovative projects that deal with pressing issues of the future.

‘Overcoming global challenges such as climate change requires trust between science and society,’ emphasises Dr Solmaz Mohadjer. The project team is focussing on making geoscientific uncertainties understandable in order to promote informed debates and counteract the rise of fake news and conspiracy theories. The Dr K. H. Eberle Foundation has been committed to honouring innovative research projects at the University of Tübingen since 2017 and thus actively contributes to the promotion of research and innovation.

We would like to congratulate Solmaz and her colleagues on this outstanding success! Their commitment and innovative approach to communicating uncertainties is inspiring and contributes significantly to strengthening trust between science and society.
