With current holdings of nearly 1,500 media, we have a comprehensive selection of videos – from classic films to the latest television series and works of animation.
The borrowing of media is reserved for members of the university community and exclusively for the purposes of study, teaching and research. A valid student or staff-ID is required.
The borrowed items must be handled with the utmost care.
In the case of damage or loss, the person to whom the media was lent is liable for the full amount of the replacement value. The sharing of media with third parties is not permitted.
The library welcomes your suggestions for acquisitions. If we acquire the media, we will happily notify you. We are, however, unfortunately unable to fulfill every wish.
Language Lab
The Center for Media Competence has numerous language-learning programs, which can be listened to without an appointment during the Media Library's hours of operation. The Media Library has also been recording lectures at the University of Tübingen for many years. These can also be listened to in the media library.
In the years 1976 - 2006, the Center for Media Competence recorded and archived around 20,000 television broadcasts. Movies, novels and literary adaptations, documentaries, recordings of theater productions as well as reports from the university can be borrowed from our video archive for purposes of research and teaching.
