Funding programmes of the state of Baden-Württemberg and the government at UT

The University of Tübingen supports the successful participation of its female academics in state and federal funding programmes by providing application advice and co-financing.

The Margarete von Wrangell Junior Professor Programme offers newly appointed female junior professors the funding for a research assistant for a period of three years.  The state-funded MuT - Mentoring and Training programme provides mentoring and further training on key interdisciplinary qualifications for female private lecturers, junior professors, habilitation candidates, postdoctoral researchers and doctoral students at universities in Baden-Württemberg.
The Federal and State Government's Female Professors Programme 2030 aims to increase the number of women in top positions in science.  The prerequisite for acquiring up to three 5-year funding programmes for first-time female professors is a positively assessed gender equality concept for parity at the university, which is aimed at the sustainable, structural anchoring of gender equality measures.  The University of Tübingen has already successfully participated in the female professorship programme three times (2008, 2013, 2018) and acquired a total of 9 professorships. The application for the fourth programme phase is currently ongoing.

Margarete-von-Wrangell-Programme for female Junior Professors

The Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts is inviting applications for the Margarete von Wrangell Junior Professorship Programme on an ongoing basis until 31 May 2025. The new focus of the programme gives junior and tenure-track female professors the opportunity to raise the profile of their field of research and at the same time support young female postdocs on their path to a lifetime professorship by employing a female researcher who has just completed her doctorate for three years.

Applications must be submitted via the faculties and the university management. Applicants from all faculties are requested to contact the Dean's Office as early as possible. Please enquire at the Dean's Office before submitting your application!
