Research team around Christian Fischer receives Best Poster Award

at the Educational Data Mining Conference

As part of the study "Are Violations of Student Privacy "Quick and Easy"? Implications of K-12 Educational Institutions' Posts on Facebook," researchers from the United States and Germany investigated the impact of social media on student privacy in the context of school use. For this purpose, a sample of 100 Facebook posts from a population of over 9.3 million posts was analyzed.

During the poster presentation at the Educational Data Mining Conference, the team around Prof. Christian Fischer succeeded in convincing with the visualization of their research findings and thus secured the Best Poster Award.

Besides Christian Fischer, Conrad Borchers (intern and student assistant at the Hector Institute) was also involved in the study.
