Around 6.2 million people in Germany cannot read or write properly. The goal formulated by policymakers in the "Alphadekade" project to significantly reduce this number by 2026 cannot be achieved, said Josef Schrader, LEAD member and professor of adult education, on Deutschlandfunk radio. Nevertheless, he also sees success.
