Around 30 years ago, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) was classified as a disease. The therapy of this behavioral disorder has been debated for just as long. How many people in Germany suffer from ADHD can only be estimated: Between two and six percent of children and adolescents are said to be affected. Those affected are constantly dawdling, dreamy and have difficulty organizing themselves. - But this is not always true. Other children and adolescents with ADHD can concentrate perfectly when something is of burning interest to them. The phenomenon is called "hyperfocus".
