Supporting PhD and postdoc researchers in learning new methods and scientific techniques or to enable the initiation of new pilot studies.

The grant reimburses the following costs:

Travel costs
up to 1,500 EUR

Accommodation / living expenses
up to 2,000 EUR per month (for UNC Chapel Hill)
up to 3,000 EUR per month (for Universities in the Boston Metropolitan Area)

The funding will be granted within the rules and regulations of the University of Tübingen for business trips. The costs will be reimbursed based on the real costs and provided receipts/invoices at the end of the research stay. The funding guidelines of the Excellence Strategy and the Landesreisekostengesetz (LRKG) of the state of Baden-Württemberg apply. An advance payment of the costs can be requested.

• A Letter of Invitation of the lab or institute that will be visited.
• A justification for the lab visit including motivation, project description and timeline (max. 2 pages)

Applications are possible at any time throughout the year, but at least 3 months before the planned visit (to allow enough time for a visa application).
