After enrolling

Enrollment usually takes one to two weeks from the time we receive your application. It may take up to four weeks in the busiest season, July – September.

We usually send the following mail within a week after enrollment. Your student ID card is usually sent within two weeks of enrollment, up to four weeks in August and September.

You become a student member of the University of Tübingen and receive several letters from us:

1. A letter giving you a student E-Mail adress which you must check regularly for official information from us. This letter includes details of further University of Tübingen online services.
2. A second letter including the following:

• • Your student ID card with photo (also called a chip card)
  • Brochure: Welcome to Tübingen
  • Orientation week brochure
  • Student Services brochure (StuWe Kompass)

Please note that these letters will not include calls for payment of any outstanding semester fees or any tuition fees which may apply to you. You can check the payments you need to make via your online enrollment in the ALMA portal.

Student E-mail address It is in your own interest to check this account regularly. You can redirect emails from it to any other email account. However, you then bear the responsibility if emails are delayed or lost.

Introductory events and registration for classes may take place even before the official start of lectures Semester dates). You may have to present your certificate of enrollment or student ID card for these. Therefore, you should enroll as early as possible even in subjects with no special requirements for admission.
