When enrolling, you must submit a copy of your higher education entrance qualification (usually a certificate of a general higher education entrance qualification [allgemeine Hochschulreife]) in an officially certified form (in the case of graduates of universities of applied sciences: certificate of the university of applied sciences entrance qualification [Fachhochschulreife] and diploma certificate). Simple uncertified copies are sufficient for the application. Detailed regulations on average grades are contained in Annex 2 of the Act on the Awarding of University Places of the Land of Baden-Württemberg (Anlage 2, Hochschulvergabeverordnung, HVVO). If the higher education entrance qualification is not sufficient for admission to the degree programme in Baden-Württemberg mentioned in the letter of admission, enrolment must be refused. This may be the case if the admission is based on a certificate of subject-related higher education entrance qualification (fachgebundene Hochschureife), but the admission was granted for a degree programme for which the general higher education entrance qualification is required.
“Deltaprüfung” test for prospective students with university of applied sciences entrance qualification or subject-related higher education entrance qualification
Anyone who has a recognised university of applied sciences entrance qualification or a subject-related higher education entrance qualification in Baden-Württemberg and wishes to take up a study in a bachelor's degree programme to which the acquired higher education entrance qualification does not entitle them, can acquire the general higher education entrance qualification for a bachelor's degree programme by successfully passing a graduate test ("Deltaprüfung" test).
