Central Graduation Ceremony

A look back

On Saturday, 18 July, 2026, the University of Tübingen bade farewell to the 2025/26 doctoral graduates at the annual Central Graduation Ceremony in the Neue Aula. The University President, Professor Dr. Karla Pollmann and the deans of the faculties presented special certificates to the graduates whose doctoral projects were singled out for faculty awards.

Professor Dr. Margot Käßmann, Honorary Senator of the University of Tübingen, former Regional Bishop and Chair of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany,  gave the keynote speech, titled “Head, Heart and Hand – Why Education Imposes a Duty of Responsibility on Us“. The University’s academic wind quintet, coordinated by Wolfgang Sternefeld, performed “Easy Dances“ by Denes Agay, “Vent de folie“ by Didier Favre and “Mozart’s Turkey Rock Mambo“ by Terence Greaves.
