The University of Tübingen deeply regrets the devastating earthquake that shook Turkey and Syria on the night of February 6. It has claimed the lives of countless people and caused great humanitarian suffering among the survivors. The University of Tübingen feels with all those affected. Our sympathy and condolences also go to the students, (guest) doctoral students, researchers and employees of the university who have relatives among the victims.
Worrying about family and friends in the affected regions is extreme and stressful - which is why the University of Tübingen draws its students' attention to the offers made by the Student Counseling Service (ZSB): In the event of psychological stress, concentration difficulties or the need for advice, e.g. on the extension of examination deadlines or similar, you can find information and contact options under https://uni-tuebingen.de/en/632 and https://uni-tuebingen.de/en/93
On its website, the German Central Institute for Social Issues (DZI) provides a PDF overview of organizations that offer humanitarian aid and gives tips on making donations in disaster and crisis situations: https://www.dzi.de/pressemitteilungen/spenden-info-erdbeben-tuerkei-und-syrien-veroeffentlicht/ (in German only)
