A 200 Euro One-off Payment for Students

On 21.12.2022, a law subsidising students’ energy costs came into force. According to this law, students in higher education and in vocational training are entitled to a one-off payment of 200 euros due to the increase in energy costs. The prerequisite is that on December 1, 2022, you were enrolled at a higher education institution or in an educational vocational course and had your place of residence or habitual abode in Germany on the above-mentioned cut-off date.

What you need to do:

  1. Register for a BundID account (description below)
  2. Download access code / PIN (description below)
  3. Apply via the portal: www.einmalzahlung200.de

How do I get an access code and PIN?

Students now enrolled at the University of Tübingen and who were also enrolled on December 1, 2022:

From March 15 at 6:00 p.m., the access code and PIN will be provided in your personal Alma account. 

Students who were enrolled on Dec. 1, 2022, but are now not enrolled:

Register for a BundID account:

The portal www.einmalzahlung200.de explains that students must first register for a BundID account in order to apply and how to do so.

There are two ways to register for a BundID account:

  1. Registration with username and password: This registration may be used if electronic proof of identity is not available or cannot be used. When registering for the BundID account in this way, you must enter your first name, last name and date of birth exactly as this data is stored in your personal account in ALMA. For the BundID account created in this way, ýou will need the PIN provided by the University in the subsequent application process.
  2. Registration using electronic ID: This registration requires an electronic proof of identity (electronic ID card, electronic residence permit, electronic proof of identity of an EU member or an ELSTER certificate). The procedure for this registration is explained in the portal. This form of registration for a BundID account does not require a PIN provided by the University in the subsequent application procedure.
