Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence PRRIDE opens at University of Tübingen: Researches regionalization in the EU

The The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence PRRIDE opens its doors at the University of Tübingen on Wednesday, June 8. PRRIDE is an acronym for “Positioning Regions and Regionalism in a Democratic Europe.” The center was set up in September 2015 at the Institute of Political Science. It will be sponsored by the European Commission’s Erasmus plus program to 2018. The focus is on the European Union’s regions and the tendency toward regionalism. The aim is to bring together researchers from various disciplines working in this area and to link them up at the regional, national, and international levels. The center will hold lectures and other events for specialists and students.

At the opening ceremony, Dr Wilfried Swenden of the University of Edinburgh will speak on “Navigating compound polities: India and its comparative value for the European Union,” lecture hall 10, Neue Aula, at 6pm on June 8. The former state minister for international affairs, Peter Friedrich, will hold the opening address; there will be a reception in the Kleiner Senat (Neuen Aula, Geschwister Scholl-Platz) after the opening.

All welcome; you do not need to register.
