The Studium Oecologicum is a teaching/learning program on sustainable development for students of all disciplines. The focus is on the global and complex challenges of our time, such as the climate and biodiversity crisis, social and North-South inequalities and resource scarcity. The courses represent a joint learning process between lecturers and participants, are open, discursive and participatory in form and method and are accompanied by experienced experts from science and practice. The Studium Oecologicum is designed at the Competence Center for Sustainable Development ("KNE", at the IZEW) and is carried out in close cooperation with the Department of Interdisciplinary Education and Professional Orientation as part of the Transdisciplinary Course Program.

The registration phases for the courses are:
1. registration period for all courses: 11.03. - 25.03.24
2. registration period for courses starting from 13.05.: 15.04. - 22.04.24
3. registration deadline for courses starting from 24.05.: 06.05. - 13.05.24

The registration and deregistration period for examinations is: 15.04 - 27.07.24.

Students who have attended several Studium Oecologicum courses can receive the "Studium Oecologicum" certificate. The following requirements are necessary to obtain the certificate:
The certificate certifies the acquisition of sound basic knowledge and interdisciplinary key competencies on issues of sustainable development and is issued by the University of Tübingen. The required certificates can be acquired over several semesters. In certain cases, credits on SD topics from other universities, including the Virtual Academy Bremen, can also be recognized.
As soon as at least 12 CP have been completed, these can be sent by e-mail (transcript of records or certificates scanned legibly or photographed) to the Department of Interdisciplinary Education and Vocational Orientation. Important notes:
After completion of the certificate, students will be informed by e-mail. As the certificate is signed by people from different departments, the process can take up to four weeks.
