As part of the University of Tübingen's excellence strategy, the Environmental systems Platform ("Umweltplattform") networks the research groups at the University of Tübingen conducting research on environmental issues. The linking of natural science disciplines with socio-economic disciplines up to law and ethics creates an interdisciplinary research platform focused on socially relevant issues. In the research area "Sustainability, Protection and Management of Natural Resources", the platform focuses on topics such as water and electricity management, conservation of agricultural land, and many more. Here, it offers the opportunity to learn from successful transdisciplinary research projects and to increasingly integrate the user aspect into environmental research. This also includes the reference to and a contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) of the United Nations.
