Emily R. Lieder (geb. Corwin-Renner)

Research Interest

My research interests center around examining and working to enhance motivation to learn and engagement with education. More specifically, my research interests include interventions to support motivation to learn, interest development, motivation-regulation strategies in education, effective feedback to promote learning and motivation, self-efficacy, perceptions of effort, and looking at motivation in education from a reward processing perspective. My dissertation work focuses on motivation regulation strategies that work by making a task more enjoyable.

Considering research questions from as many perspectives as possible and exchanging ideas with researchers working in different but related areas has always been important to me, so I value LEAD’s interdisciplinary structure and the opportunities that provides.
