Summary

The receptor kinase BAK1 is a central regulator of LRR-RK-mediated signaling. However, it remains unknown how specificity for the diverse pathways is determined and how BAK1 is controlled. In the project D03, we will analyze how the BAK1-interacting RLKs BIR2 and BIR3 differentially affect the diverse BAK1-regulated signaling pathways with special emphasis on plant immunity. The molecular mechanism of the interaction and the resulting consequences for BAK1-regulated processes will be studied.
