I am a Non-EU-citizen. How long can I stay in Germany after the completion of my studies in order to look for a job?
Once you have successfully completed your studies, you can apply for a residence permit at the Foreigners' Office to extend your stay by 18 months, in order to look for a job in Germany, which is adequate to your degree.
How many hours can I work in a job not connected to my field of study after graduating with a residence permit for job search?
After graduating from a German university, you are no longer bound to the maximum amount students may work (120 full days/240 half days per year). You thus can work full-time in any type of job in order to prove sufficient funds. After 18 months, you must have secured a job that matches your qualifications, in order to be able to renew your residence permit.
